Victory Tools Blacksmith/Journeyman’s Tongs

550mm long

450mm reins

Your tongs are forged in Norfolk by Master Blacksmiths from carbon steel. These tongs are forged on Lancelot a 1952 Massey power hammer and Sir Kay, a Hattersley and Davidson spring hammer.

These tongs are so named as they are often used by blacksmith journeymen due to the multi-purpose function.

These tongs will hold 6-16 mm square and the same in round. They will hold at 90 degrees and 180 degrees. They will also hold a 20mm square and a 10-20mm ball. The design of the tongs allows you to use them as a croute tong thus allowing you to hold any stock bar with a lump on the end which fits inside the tong jaw. Very useful when forging spoons or a knife pommel.

We use these tongs all the time at the forge as it allows us to do the work of around 20 different size pairs in one.

All our standard and lightweight tongs are made with flexible, non parallel meeting round reins. This is very important as professional blacksmiths, it avoids the user nipping the palm of their hands in the reins and makes them comfortable to hold ,as well as dispersing the shock waves. Also the tongs can be easily stored on a rack without the reins sticking out and allow the use of a chain link to be placed on the end of the reins for a permanent grip when in use.

Please note we aim to get all of products out within 5 working days but all our products are hand forged so please allow 15 working days for the item to be made.
